The states of Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on the west, the state of Andhra Pradesh on the south, the nation of Bangladesh on the east, and Bhutan, Nepal, and the state of Sikkim on the north define the region’s borders.
The Bay of Bengal borders it to the southeast as well. The slender Siliguri Corridor in West Bengal’s northeast connects it to the Seven Sister States of Northeastern India. Out of all the Indian regions, East India has the fourth-largest gross domestic GDP.
